SunTrust Savings and Loans Limited, a primary mortgage institution (PMI), was incorporated in Nigeria as a limited liability company on the 12th of February 2009 with 2billion authorized share capital. It was licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria under the provisions of the Banks and other Financial Institutions Act No. 25 of 1991, (as amended) to carry out the business of mortgage banking in Nigeria on the 11th of March 2009. It formally commenced business on 1st of November 2009 from it’s wholly owned Headquarters in Abuja, Nigeria. Operating from the main office in Abuja the Bank’s principal business consists of attracting deposits from consumers and businesses in its market area and originating consumer, residential, multi-family and commercial real estate loans, as well as other non-residential loans.
